Davian Chester is a graphic designer and illustrator from Columbus, Georgia, who also works as an elementary school art teacher, has reimagined Disney princesses as beautiful black women.




His drawings offer an insight into what Disney's most popular princesses would look like if they weren't caucasian. Some of his work includes Anna and Elsa from Frozen. He even recreated Tiana of The Princess and the Frog, Disney's first black princess, as well as Rapunzel and Merida from Brave. In addition to Chester’s physical re-designs of the princesses, he also went on to add additional elements to some of the designs to reflect the princesses personality. In his recreation of Belle, Chester added Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings." Check out 9 of Davian's stunning drawings below!
