Released on Netflix 26 February, 2018 viewers and critics are raving about Verónica - a Spanish subtitled horror film directed by Paco Plaza (REC franchise).

After playing Ouija with two classmates during a solar eclipse to summon the spirits of a dead friend, this teen girl finds herself besieged by an evil supernatural force.

The film is sitting pretty with a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

What's scarier is the film is supposedly based on a true story taken from Madrid's police files in 1992: a young girl in Vallecas, south Madrid, was hospitalised and died after dabbling with a ouija board. It is said to be the only time the word ‘unexplained’ marks a police file.
