Remember a few months ago when Frozen 2 was confirmed and (most of) the world rejoiced? Well, today one of the directors behind Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff has once again excited us all with some hints about the upcoming sequel! Yay!

Despite the sequel not yet having a confirmed release date (though it is rumored to be sometime in late 2018 or beyond), director Chris Buck spoke to MTV at the special screening of the Walt Disney Animation Studios Shorts Collection on August 9th about Frozen, Frozen Fever and also the eagerly anticipated Frozen 2!

Frozen directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee

First off, the director assured everyone a script for the sequel was very much underway between him and co-director Jennifer Lee. Buck commented that the pair "have an overall idea, a concept" that he thinks "is a very strong one." Awesome! Of course, us Frozen fanatics would expect nothing less, but it's always great to hear the directors are confident in where their film is headed, even well in advance.

Secondly, Buck talked about how the craziness of the Frozen phenomenon was responsible for him and Lee taking a bit of time before even contemplating a sequel, saying:

"After the feature, and because of how it was received, we were all overwhelmed by the Frozen phenomenon. It took us a while just to even get back into things and do the short. And it was as we were doing the short that we started thinking about the next one."
