Disney’s been searching for the voice of their next princess, Moana, and they’ve found her at last: Meet 14-year-old Hawaiian native Auli’i Cravalho.
People announced in an exclusive that the Hawaii native was cast as the lead in the upcoming film, but the casting directors for the film decided to play a prank on her before officially offering her the role.
Auli’i went on an initial audition and didn’t hear back for weeks. Later she received an email for a callback asking her to audition again and do “more ad-libs.”
And the casting directors continued to tease Auli’i, asking her if she could be even happier while saying her lines.
