In his action-packed series Porcelain Figures, German photographer Martin Klimas drops figurines of martial artists from a height of 3 meters, sending them to their imminent destruction.
Meanwhile, on the floor, a high-speed camera waits to catch it all unfold. The sound of shattering porcelain triggers the camera’s shutter release, capturing the entire spectacle at the moment of impact.
Each image tells a story, whether it’s a lone martial artist practicing his/her craft or a group of fighters taking on their rivals. Who knew there’d be so much beauty in destruction?
