7. Tainted Meat

"Tainted meat, TAINTED MEAT!" Bob Stookey, you crazy hero. Remember barbecued Bob? The cannibals seemed to thoroughly enjoy a spot of leg around the campfire until Stookey's bite revelation and subsequent hysterics about being a poisonous food source.

Is that what Ezekiel is trying to accomplish right now? And if so, why? His pigs are being fed and raised on walker meat which surely classes them as 'tainted' in the same way as Bob. There's a good chance Ezekiel thinks he can slowly poison the Saviours.

Unfortunately, if that is his plan, it's not going to end well. There's no proof to suggest that tainted meat actually is a nailed on way to kill a man, nor would Ezekiel stand a chance if Negan's men were all conveniently struck down by a mound of demon ham sandwiches. The only certainty is that the tainted meat question is once again open for theories.

6. Morgan's Book

Morgan has an apprentice. Benjamin is a member of The Kingdom with a tragic history. His father was killed by Negan and the gang, and Ezekiel has taken him under his wing ever since, but Morgan holds the responsibility for training him up into a fine asset to the settlement.

He instantly hones Ben's skills in the art of aikido and at one point passes him a book that may seem innocuous but fans have seen it before, in the hands of a much-loved one-off character.

Eastman. Remember the man in the hut who inspired Morgan's inner-change? Okay, he was the man who owned Tabitha the goat... But nevertheless, his impact has been profound. Morgan was given 'The Art of Peace' book and now he has handed that off to Benjamin. It's a nice moment of sentimentality and adds a sense of history to Morgan's character who clearly keeps a hold of items that may be of use in the future.

5. Morgan Marking His Path (Again)

It was hard to miss Morgan scratching arrows into trees, mailboxes and landmarks to mark his path as he trekked to The Kingdom with Ezekiel's men. There's a deeper yet simple meaning behind his habit of leaving a trail behind.

Morgan is embarking on an enormous journey. This is a man who lost his son and wife, everything he held dear, during the rise of the walkers and turned to a path of total violence, hatred and killing but that was the old Morgan. His new persona is one of true peace.

The staff-wielding cult hero is leaving a trail behind so he can find the way back, yes, but his markings also act as a permanent reminder of the path he has been following that has seen him grow into becoming a fresh, new man ready to tackle the apocalypse in a zen-like manner.
