How Game of Thrones Looks Before and After CGI
I love seeing stuff like this.
1. Since dragons are dangerous and also fictional, actors have to share scenes with green balls on sticks that will be filled in later
2. There's a lot of people in costume in this scene, but for larger-than-life scale you need a bit of green screen
3. Using humble, real-world backdrops up front and dropping in fantastical castles in the background is a common practice
4. In a way, it's kind of impressive that they built any part of a giant ice wall to begin with
5. Some scenes are made of so much CGI you could almost call it a cartoon -- not that it's a bad thing
