1. The Eyes of My Mother (2016)

There is a reason that this movie is shot in black and white. It is truly a disturbing tale of revenge and insanity like no other. It may be a little "artsy" for some people, but if you can handle the darkness of the film, you will probably enjoy it.

"A young, lonely woman is consumed by her deepest and darkest desires after tragedy strikes her quiet country life."

2. The Devil's Candy (2016)

This one is more of a typical horror movie than some of the other ones on this list. However, it is pretty twisted at certain points and has some very dark content. It is really well done, with a solid story and quality acting.

"A struggling painter is possessed by satanic forces after he and his young family move into their dream home in rural Texas, in this creepy haunted-house tale."

3. Excision (2012)

For me, Excision is probably the most disturbing movie on this list. While it does contain plenty of blood, it's really the subject matter and insanity of it that makes it truly twisted. This film is definitely not for the squeamish and is just plain weird at times, but I really enjoyed it.

"A disturbed and delusional high school student with aspirations of a career in medicine goes to extremes to earn the approval of her controlling mother."

4. Martyrs (2008)

This French film is the most violent and bloodiest movie on the list. While it was not a huge hit with the critics, it has become a cult classic over the past decade. Be warned, if you do not like ultra-violent, bucket of blood movies, do not watch it. It's VERY graphic. If you do though, check it the hell out.

"A young woman's quest for revenge against the people who kidnapped and tormented her as a child leads her and a friend, who is also a victim of child abuse, on a terrifying journey into a living hell of depravity."

5. The Collection (2012)

While bordering on "torture porn" (or being the very definition of) these movies are very enjoyable to watch for the sheer creativity and over-the-top traps set up by the psychopathic killer. There is no shortage of blood and guts yet they do contain plenty of suspense void from similar movies.

"Desperate to repay his debt to his ex-wife, an ex-con plots a heist at his new employer's home, unaware that a second criminal has also targeted the property, and rigged it with a series of deadly traps."

6. V/H/S/2 (2013)

I am a big fan of the whole V/H/S series, but the second one is easily the best and most disturbing of the three. It's truly a great horror anthology film with a lot of creativity and blood.

"Searching for a missing student, two private investigators break into his house and find a collection of VHS tapes. Viewing the horrific contents of each cassette, they realize there may be dark motives behind the student's disappearance."
