Chicago-based artist BD Judkins has taken on the task of translating the entire Pokedex in the style of traditional Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints. Influenced by the works of Hokusai and Utamaro, who made images depicting both fantastical myths and naturalistic settings, the Pokiyo-e project imagines Nintendo's creatures from world gone by.
